A Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist (PCH) is a horticultural expert who has successfully completed a comprehensive study program and examination which tests his/her knowledge of plant maintenance and biology, landscape design, and garden center management. A PCH must maintain certification through a program of continuing education credits to ensure his/her ongoing knowledge and expertise as a professional in the horticulture industry.

A Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) is a landscape professional who has been certified through an internationally-recognized written and “hands-on” testing program developed by the Professional Land Care Network (PLANET) and administered by the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA). A CLT has demonstrated their mastery of a body of knowledge recognized as the national standard throughout the landscape industry. They possess an expertise that is accepted as the standard of excellence in their field – landscape installation, landscape maintenance, or irrigation.
